Wie heeft er al eens gehoord van de Black Twilight Circle uit Californië? Het is een club van Amerikaanse black metalbands die gezien wordt als de belangrijkste ontwikkeling binnen dit subgenre. Gedurende de periode van ongeveer een decennium heeft deze groep een eigen sound ontwikkeld die voortborduurt op de traditionele oerklanken uit Noorwegen. De Black Twilight Circle bestaat onder andere uit bands als Volahn, Arizmenda, Kallathon, Blue Hummingbird On The Left, Shataan, Kuxan Suum, Tukaaria, Dolorvotre, Muknal, Axeman, is gecentreerd rond het Crepúsculo Negro label en brengt zijn muziek enkel uit op cassette en/of vinyl. Hoe diep wil je de underground in?

Maar daar gaat nu verandering in komen! Het platenlabel The Ajna Offensive brengt op dinsdag 2 september een set albums uit (2CD en 3LP) uit met songs van de belangrijkste bands binnen de Black Twilight Circle. Met de pakkende titel Tliltic Tlapoyauak wordt een zestiental nummers uitgebracht die tesamen net iets minder dan twee uur metal mahem leveren. Een vertegenwoordiger van de Black Twilight Circle heeft het volgende statement gegeven: “The command of immense primordial gods immerses totality. As the sun’s rays of kosmic will staturates the being, they inherit the power. In the urgent flames of Anahuac Black Twilight glimmers the eyes of its people induced in spiritual ecstasy.” Niet voor muziekliefhebbers met een hartritmestoornis.
