Met een prachtige nieuwe track Always Together With You heeft Spiritualized het nieuwe album Everything Was Beautiful aangekondigd.

De nieuwe track spiegelt J. Spaceman’s (aka Jason Pierce) ervaringen tijdens de lockdown: ‘I felt like I’d been in training for this my whole life.” It’s a buzzy, psych-tinged affair spanning just under seven minutes, carried by reverberant guitars and ultra-bright vocal harmonies.

Everything Was Beautiful werd opgenomen in Pierce’s eigen thuisstudio als in 10 andere studio’s. Pierce nam zelf het leeuwendeel van 16 instrumenten voor zijn rekening.

‘There was so much information on it that the slightest move would unbalance it, but going around in circles is important to me,” he said. “Not like you’re spiraling out of control but you’re going around and around and on each revolution you hold onto the good each time. Sure, you get mistakes as well, but you hold on to some of those too and that’s how you kind of… achieve. Well, you get there’.

Everything Was Beautiful wordt uitgebracht op 25 februari door het coole Bella Union en is de opvolger van het (terecht) veelgeprezen And Nothing Hurt uit 2018 na een zes jaar lange radiostilte..

De release van het album zal worden gevolgd door een 27 concerten durende tour die Pierce en zijn band over thuisland Engeland, Europa en Noord-Amerika zal brengen.

 

NB. Spiritualized maakte afgelopen jaar indruk met zeer fraaie reissues van de legendarische albums Lazer Guided Melodies (1992), Pure Phase (1995), Ladies and Getlemen We Are Floating In Space en (1997) en Let It Come Down (2001).
