Op 18 maart verschijnt het langverwachte nieuwe (zesde) album Bloodsports van Suede. Fans hebben 10 jaar moeten wachten op het nieuwe materiaal. It Starts And Ends With You is de eerste officiële single en zal in februari uitkomen.

NME en Q Magazine namen een kijkje in de studio tijdens de opnames en hadden het volgende erover te zeggen: “Suede seem brighter, fuller and more energized than they have in a long time”.

De band zal ook weer gaan touren. Het eerste optreden wat de band geeft is op 30 maart in London’s Alexandra Palace. De band zal vervolgens zalen aandoen als O2 en Royal Albert Hall voordat ze zich op Europa gaan stortten. Op de festivals zal de band ook niet ontbreken. Een Nederlandse show wordt verwacht in de herfst.

Als voorproefje zette de band al track Barriers online. Brett Anderson over de nieuwe plaat: ‘After a year of sweating and bleeding over the record it’s finally finished so we wanted to get some music out there as soon as we could. Barriers isn’t the first single but we are proud of it enough just to chuck it out there and thought that it’s pulsing, romantic swell somehow summed up the feel of the album quite nicely . The album is called Bloodsports. It’s about lust, it’s about the chase, it’s about the endless carnal game of love. It was possibly the hardest we’ve ever made but certainly the most satisfying. It’s ten furious songs for me have reclaimed from ourselves what Suede was always about; drama, melody and noise. ”
