True en opvolger Parade behoren tot de meest succesvolle albums die Spandau Ballet uitbracht. Beide albums zijn verschenen met vele extra’s.

Op hun derde album True (1983) vond Spandau Ballet haar eigen succesvolle sound. Weg van de wave en meer in een mix van pop, jazz, soul en R&B vond de band haar eigen stijl. Mede door het kenmerkende geluid van de saxofoon van Steve Norman, die binnen de band van gitaar naar sax was geswitcht. De succesvolle producers Tony Swain en Steve Jolley hielpen zeker ook om het bandgeluid te vervolmaken. Met de singles Gold en het titelnummer werden overal ter wereld grote hits gescoord. Ze wisten het album op te stoten tot een echte millionseller.

Parade (1984) was het succesvolle opvolgalbum. Met hitsingles in de vorm van Only When You Leave en I’ll Fly For You werden ook van dit album wereldwijd miljoenen exemplaren verkocht. De band speelde in Londen op het legendarische Live Aid concert. Parade markeerde tevens het afscheid van platenlabel Chrysalis, het label waar ze hun eerste vier albums uitbrachten. Plus de zeer succesvolle singles compilatie The Singles Collection.
