Woensdag 5 juni zal er een heel speciaal concert in Paradiso plaatsvinden. De New Yorkse componist Nico Muhly heeft een aantal goede vrienden uitgenodigd om een bijzondere muzikale avond te creëren. De Ierse singer-songwriter Glen Hansard en de twee IJslandse muzikanten Valgeir Sigurdsson en Daniel Bjarnason van het Bedroom Community label zullen – samen met het 35 musici tellende BBC Scottish Symphony orchestra – Nico Muhly bijstaan.

Voor de pauze staat de cello centraal met onder andere de stukken Bow to string van Bjarnason en Muhly’s eigen Celloconcert. Na de pauze speelt Hansard een collectie van zijn bekendste nummers samen met het symfonieorkest, waarvoor Nico Muhly speciaal voor deze gelegenheid arrangementen heeft geschreven.
